Digital public debate platform
India should create a formal digital platform for public policy discussion, where citizens can participate in a structured and meaningful way. This platform should allow people to review policy proposals, ask questions, submit suggestions, raise concerns, and understand how elected representatives and government departments respond to public feedback.
The platform should be available in all major Indian languages so that participation is not limited to English-speaking citizens or urban users. It should also be properly moderated to prevent abuse, misinformation, hate speech, and spam. Unlike normal social media platforms, the purpose should not be viral arguments or emotional outrage. The goal should be public reasoning, informed debate, and constructive participation.
Each policy proposal should have clear summaries, supporting documents, expert views, public comments, official responses, and a visible record of changes made after consultation. This would help citizens see whether their participation has any real impact and would make democratic decision-making more transparent and accountable.
